About

I'm Dr Neil Smith, a senior lecturer in the School of Computing and Communications at The Open University.

My research interests are mainly around the pedagogy of computing, at both university and schoo levels. I'm also interested in data science, machine learning, and artificial inteligence generally.

I've taught courses on artificial intelligence, data science, databases, and introductory computing modules.

I'm Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered IT Professional (via the BCS).
